The latest market movers and going news ahead of the second day at Royal Ascot.
Market movers
Paddy Power's Paul Binfield said of Tuesday : "We came out a little ahead on day one, with the defeats of Reaching High in the Ascot Stakes and Valiancy in the Copper Horse Stakes of great help. It's all to play for heading into day two though."
It has been quiet enough on the movers front this morning in the Sky Bet and Paddy Power offices with the below the only real notable movers
15:40 Duke of Cambridge Stakes
Jancis 22/1 into 14/1 - Dahlia Stakes winner who found the run of the race against her at the Curragh last time.
17:00 Royal Hunt Cup
Archivist 15/2 into 5/1 - Wathnan owned and James Doyle ridden runner who was running well in Meydan when last seen.
18:10 Windsor Castle Stakes
Celeron 11/1 into 15/2 - Curragh winner on debut a fortnight ago from a respected yard, Colin Keane rides.
Matt Hulmes, spokesman of Royal Ascot's official betting partner Betfred, said: “As expected, the Royal Hunt Cup has attracted most punters’ attention ahead of this afternoon’s action, with a host of runners shortening in the market.
“Archivist is chief among them and is now the clear 6/1 favourite, having been available at 10/1 just 24 hours ago. Irish raider Jagged Edge has also been heavily supported and now trades at single-figure odds, having more than halved in price.
“In the feature Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, Ombudsman remains solid at the head of the betting, while Daryz has drifted notably since declarations. See The Fire has attracted each-way money and is into 12/1 from 16/1.
“Support has continued for Galiyan in the Queen’s Vase. Flagged up by Oisin Murphy before the meeting, he was a significant ante-post mover and is now a solid 2/1 favourite.
“Alta Regina is probably the best-backed juvenile on the card, halving in price to 5/1 for the opening Queen Mary Stakes.”
