Dual winner in France who made a successful handicap/stable debut in Bahrain (1¼m) in December. Respectable efforts over 1½m at Ascot on first 2 runs back in Britain and 1¾m likely stretched him at Goodwood since. This test more suitable.
Largely struggled since going 2-2 in useful juvenile season but seems to have turned a corner in 3 starts for this yard having eased in the weights, finishing second of 10 at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) 23 days ago. Shapes as if this step back up in trip may suit. Considered.
Hold-up performer who has looked smart at his best but needs luck in running and was well held in the Lanark Silver Bell at Hamilton back from another short break 16 days ago.
Resumed winning ways at Pontefract in April but well held in stronger races on his last 3 outings, including eased as if amiss at the Ebor meeting here latest. A bounce back is needed.
Ended 2025 with a C&D win. Better than ever when following up at Chester on return but has found it a lot tougher off marks in the 90s since. Others arrive with more pressing claims.
Won 3 times in 2025, with latest victory over 1¼m at Lingfield in December. Yet to really get going this year but is well handicapped again if a 115-day break has a reviving effect.
Useful 9f victor for Karl Burke in 2025 and some good efforts in hot C&D handicaps for current stable since, including fifth of 20 at last month's Ebor meeting. Should give another good account.
Dubawi colt out of Falmouth winner Snow Lantern. Promising second on first 2 outings before easily landing the odds in maiden at Salisbury (1¼m, heavy, 4/9) in June. Back from 3 months with a profile which strongly suggests he'll have more to offer in handicaps.
Readily ended a losing sequence in 9-runner handicap over C&D (good to firm) in July. Shaped as if still in good form when sixth of 20 in a much stronger race at the Ebor meeting last month. Placed in this last year.
Smart at best but lightly raced in recent times and well held in a trio of 1¼m handicaps for Ian Williams this summer. Mark in freefall but could only consider if backed in a first-time tongue tie.
Picked up where he left off in 2025 when gamely winning at Haydock (10.5f) in April and better than ever when completing the hat-trick back over 1m at Thirsk in May. Failed to fire over 9f here in June but freshened up since and capable of bouncing back.
One-time useful winner in France. Drew a blank for Joseph O'Brien last year and yet to seriously threaten for Tim Easterby, even though he's reached the frame on his last 3 outings.
Resumed winning ways over C&D in June and backed it up with a solid fifth of 13 in handicap at Hamilton (9f, good to firm) in August. A Class 2 over C&D at the Ebor meeting was too competitive for him but this is more his level.
Landed the odds on final start for Andre Fabre last autumn. Has reached the frame on 4 of 5 starts for new connections, with the best effort when narrowly denied on all-weather at Lingfield (1¼m) 15 days ago, although he was rather outbattled. First-time blinkers replace cheekpieces now.
Doubled his tally over C&D in May before bumping into a progressive type when second of 3 at Salisbury (1½m) next time. Left behind a lesser effort in the John Smith's Cup when fifth of 13 at Goodwood (11f) but latest fourth of 5 at Newmarket (1¾m, good) no more than respectable, hanging to left.
Won 7f Thirsk novice last September and has shaped well several times in handicaps since, including here. Something can't have been right when tailed off back here in July and capable of bouncing back after a break.

Besieged (2/1), Tuscan Hills (10/3), Castle Stuart (4/1), Wanderlust (13/2), Dark Moon Rising (7/1), Wahdan (14/1), Noble Horizon (16/1), Pearl River (16/1), Double Parked (33/1), Stoneacre Donny (33/1), Empire Of Light (33/1), Let's Dream (50/1), Nesthorn (50/1), Duke's Command (66/1), Teumessias Fox (66/1), Have Secret (66/1), Dhahabi (150/1)
BESIEGED very much has the profile of one who should have more to offer in handicaps so he gets the vote. Fellow 3-y-o Stoneacre Donny must have been amiss here last time as his handicap record prior to that was solid and he can bounce back and provide the chief threat ahead of C&D specialists Castle Stuart and Dark Moon Rising.
