Made all in a 2m Catterick claiming hurdle on final start for Jennie Candlish. Very much a mixed bag for new connections, finishing a close second in 4-runner handicap at Market Rasen before out of his depth in the Summer Hurdle there last time. Should at least benefit from sizeable drop in class.
Fair bumper/maiden hurdle winner for Twiston-Davies yard who has improved for Dan Skelton. Made a successful start over fences (following a breathing operation) at Uttoxeter and was still in the hunt when brought down at the last at Worcester since. The one to beat off 5 lb lower hurdles mark.
Won a maiden hurdle at Tramore (150/1) in 2024/25 for Kieran Purcell. No impact in handicaps for a couple of Irish yards since, latterly on reappearance at Wexford in early-July. Bit to prove dropped into selling handicap by new connections.
Temperamental sort hasn't kicked on from promising start over hurdles. Wasn't disgraced when 12 lengths fourth in 2m handicap here last month, though underlined he isn't one for maximum trust when refusing to race on the Flat subsequently.
Dug deep to fend off a next-time-out winner when successful on stable debut at Worcester in early-June. In similar form when 3½ lengths third over same C&D (ahead of Raffles Nobu) and hasn't been long with current yard (placed off higher marks last season).
Strong traveller who capitalised on a much-reduced mark/snapped a long losing run at Newton Abbot last month. Has typically flattered to deceive since, though probably still in form following 9½ lengths third at Fontwell latest. Place claims from 3 lb out of the handicap.
Quirky sort who won this corresponding event 12 months ago when trained by James Owen. Has tumbled in the weights following an underwhelming year for current connections, not fancying it one bit on chasing debut at Newton Abbot last time.

Forecasts
At The Oche (13/8), Mojo Ego (15/8), Raffles Nobu (9/2), Pigeon House (10/1), Versatile (10/1), Mountain Port (33/1), Chillhi (33/1)
AT THE OCHE can capitalise on a lower hurdles mark to make it 2 wins from 3 since joining the Skeltons. Mojo Ego and Raffles Nobu are most likely to fill the places.
