3-4 so far over 5f/6f (only defeat came on good to firm, but still a good effort). Trainer/jockey combination always to be respected at this venue, and it will be a surprise if this colt is not a big player, on his reappearance after being gelded.
Triple winner over 5-6f as a novice, his best effort when landing a Chester nursery last September from a mark of 88. Off the boil in two further runs and has since been gelded. Returns for a stable going well and can again go well fresh.
Went close on debut at Pontefract last July before scoring there next time (5f, good). Not disgraced despite being last of eight in a Chantilly Group 3 after that, but then weakened quickly to be last in Ayr Listed event. Little bit to prove now.
Won his first two starts at Ayr and Redcar (both 6f, good/good to firm) but couldn't add to those in a Newbury handicap or a Newcastle conditions event. Another who looks in need of improvement to defy this mark, though stable among the winners.
Dual Chester winner (6f, soft; 7f, good) last season. Returned there to go close twice later in the campaign, her best being when a neck second from 1lb lower (7f, good). Needs a bit of improvement and this track asks different questions.
Went close on Ayr debut this time last year, before scoring next time at Hamilton (6f, good to soft). Well held in the Gimcrack and also when a disappointing favourite on his nursery debut. Since gelded and needs to bounce back on reappearance.
Got off the mark at the fourth time of asking last June, when scoring at Ayr (6f, good) and raised the bar slightly with a Yarmouth win (6f, good to firm) on his nursery debut when last seen. Up 6lb or that, but has the potential for more.
Dual juvenile winner in novice (6f, good) and nursery (7f) company. Soft ground a possible excuse for defeat in final start last year. Since gelded and no surprise to see him kick on again this term.
Showed a good degree of promise on his second start last year in a York novice event (6f, good to firm). Didn't need to improve on that to record a comfortable Newcastle win (5f, AW) in January. Open to further improvement. Interesting.
C&D winner (good to firm) on his second start last July. Down the field in an Ascot Listed event next time and held on sole nursery start from a mark of 88. Drops 3lb for this reappearance, but others make more appeal this time.
Dual novice winner (6f/5f, both on sound surface) last season, before being 1¼L fourth of five when odds-on favourite at Beverley in August. Same mark for this reappearance, so more needed, but certainly not ruled out.

An interesting and probably quite informative race in prospect, with Mark Johnston holding a strong hand with both Praxeology and Gobi Sunset, and neither would be a surprise winner. However, the suggestion is CLAREYBLUE, who dotted up on the All Weather when last seen in January, but still looks to have scope for a fair bit more from this mark. Brad The Brief, Powertrain and Harry Love are others of interest.
