Made a respectable seasonal reappearance when 5l second over C&D two weeks ago. Winner of that race looks to be a progressive and another and remains on the same mark for that run. Commands respect.
Hasn't shown the necessary improvements from last year's form in handicaps this season, including when last of eight at Salisbury (1m4f, good to firm) last month. Headgear is now off and more needed to be competitive.
Was quite consistent until finishing a disappointing sixth in 1m4f Chester handicap last time out. Excuses that day but form has gone the wrong way this season. Blinkers turned to in a bid to reignite spark.
Progressive in three starts this season, most recently when second in 1m3f Goodwood maiden. Given lenient mark for handicap debut and likely to have more improvement to offer.
Couldn't back up encouraging Nottingham reappearance when last of six at Sandown (1m6f, good to firm) on latest start in May. Hung quite badly that day so can be forgiven for that run and claims on best form.
Lightly raced maiden, but has ran with credit in two starts this season, including when second in 1m4f Newbury handicap last time out. Unraced on the likely fast ground but his form gives him a chance.
Forecasts
Group Stage (2/1), Alnadir (5/2), Fearless Warrior (7/2), Johnny Kidd (8/1), Queen Constantine (10/1), Jersey Wonder (12/1)
JOHNNY KIDD has been progressing with racing this season and looks to be well treated by the handicapper on the basis of his form so far, he could have the likely improvement to land this type of contest. Group Stage holds claims from his consistent runs this season for a National Hunt trainer who does well with flat handicappers, while Alnadir's C&D second puts him right in the mix off the same mark in what looks to be a weaker contest.
