Fair three-time Flat winner at up to 1m2f . No better than mid-division in three starts over timber to date and was disappointing when well beaten last time. May do better in due course in handicaps.
11-race ex-Irish Flat maiden who has failed to score in four outings over hurdles but has gone close on two occasions. Failed by just half a length to score at Carlisle in February and chance respected here.
Fair runner-up over C&D in handicap last time off mark of 115 suggests he should be in the thick of the action with a similar effort. Still relatively unexposed and open to improvement.
Won over 1m2f on Flat in 2017 and ran a few fair races last year for Richard Hannon of marks as high as 90. Looked very novicey at Musselburgh last time in novice hurdle having previously run well when second at same track.
Looks modest on evidence of six starts so far despite having hinted at a little ability in bumpers. Nothing to show for two outings over timber and is hard to recommend.
Unfashionably bred Arabian Gleam gelding who was completely tailed off on only previous start on Flat for Roger Fell. Makes jumps debut and is probably best watched for the time being.
Won three times on Flat at up to 1m4f for Roger Charlton and bought for 58,000 guines by current connections to go hurdling. Weakened 2 out on both starts and well beaten but returns here after a wind operation so may do better.
Bought 60,000 guineas after winning on debut in three-runner maiden point to-point. Second on Rules debut in Catterick bumper in December but only seventh in similar event at Ayr last time. Makes hurdles bow here and worth a market check.
Failed to score in six starts for Nicky Henderson. Joined current yard in January 2018 and ran well after 11 months off when close third in minor event at Catterick. Not seen since and clearly has training issues but possesses ability.
Won on Flat in Ireland at Gowran Park for Ger Lyons in autumn 2017 before joining Archie Watson. Didn't progress there in four starts and joined current yard in October 2018. Has shown little in three starts over timber and much more needed now.
Won Killarney 1m h'cap for John Oxx in 2017. Joined current connections in August 2018 and has been inconsistent over hurdles, but ran wel last time when second in Huntingdon maiden hurdle. Repeat of that would take him close in this company.
Unplaced in three starts in French promises and makes first start for new yard. Wears hood and tongue-tie for first time and doesn't look an obvious choice unless market tells otherwise.
In good form on the Flat at up to 2m in September winning three times in space of a week. Showed ability on first of two starts over hurdles then outclassed last time at Cheltenham. This is easier and won't be far away.
Maiden in six starts in France on Flat at bought for just €9,000 in November by current connections. 66/1 and pulled up when tailed off on hurdles bow at Sedgefield and looks to have a mountain to climb.
Little show in two point-to-points and tailed off last of four on Rules debut at Bangor three weeks ago. Impossible to recommend on that evidence.
Showed some promise when thrid in two bumpers earlier this year but hasn't carried that over to hurdles in two moderate efforts so far at long odds. Others make much more appeal.
Forecasts
Fransham (5/2), Isaac Wonder (7/2), Archippos (11/2), For Three (6/1), Swordbill (8/1), Magellan (10/1), What's The Scoop (14/1), Golden Wolf (20/1), The Maestro (33/1), World War (33/1), Lord De La Mine (66/1), Molly Whuppie (100/1), Gold Fields (100/1), Thunder Boy (100/1), Karapiro Boy (100/1), Cape Fair (200/1)
A number with claims in what looks an open contest, but the nod goes to FRANSHAM who showed he can run well here when second over C&D last time in a handicap. Big dangers include For Three, Golden Wolf and Isaac Wonder, all of whom have shown enough to entitle them to respect. Swordbill takes a drop in class and any market support for him could prove significant as it would for The Maestro.
- Fransham
- Swordbill
