Still a maiden after eight starts but ran best race so far when a good second at Chepstow (7f, good to soft) last time. That just about sets the standard and yard do very well here.
Kyllachy colt that cost 21,000 gns as a yearling but went unsold at £19,000 as a two-year-old. Half-brother to four winners and makes some appeal on paper.
Shaped quite well when third of 10 to Eesha's Smile in 7½f novice at Beverley in August, but took a backward step at Musselburgh next time, and would need to improve on best form to figure here.
Lope de Vega half-brother to smart 6f7f winner Naadirr among others. Has started slowly on both starts so far so that is a concern. Finished very strongly at Beverley and this track should suit. Major player if breaking on terms.
Having first start for this yard when not beaten very far over this C&D three weeks ago. Will have claims once again if able to show some improvement now.
Struggled when finishing 12th of 14 on debut at Windsor (6f, good-to-firm) and only fared slightly better at Lingfield (7f, AW) last time. More needed to be involved.
Forecasts
Water Diviner (4/5), Marronnier (3/1), War Chariot (7/2), Castle Quarter (16/1), Monadante (16/1), Cedar (33/1), Maared (33/1), Eye Of The Water (33/1)
Water Diviner sets the standard on what's been achieved so far but he could be vulnerable to improvers. War Chariot is sure to know more this time and is very much respected but preference is for MARRONNIER. The selection reared as the stalls opened at Beverley last time and was slowly away. Compensation surely awaits soon if he can break on terms.
