First run back from wind surgery and just the one run on the AW having run to a poor level in bumpers (one runner-up slot to his name). Faces a tough task in this against some improving younger horses.
Unplaced in two bumpers separated by a gap of 18 months. Chance summed by the fact that he was 66/1 on his Flat debut and impossible to fancy here.
Ran well (might not have been ready) in a decent Newbury maiden (all top yards represented) and the second string behind his stablemate who started favourite. Has a smart pedigree and looked to get the hang of things late on and more expected.
Has a taking pedigree but inexperience held him back on his Nottingham debut (offered something to work on; not knocked about). Improved on his second start (switched to AW) taking second to a subsequent handicap debut winner; leading candidate.
Green and well held on his debut he showed little more on his second start kept to the AW; started at big odds each time. Needs this run for a mark and likely to be seen to better effect in low-grade handicaps.
Just one run as a juvenile (bred to need time and distance) but still acquitted himself better than the market expected to finish 3rd over 1m. Improved when next seen in May upped in trip (looked all about stamina); more progress likely.
Has been given three relatively quick runs this year at up to 1m4f and despite plenty of stamina in the pedigree looked more at home over 1m2f last time. Second to a long odds-on favourite but only beaten ½L; still looks work in progress.
Made his debut in a Sandown 1m2f novice that was full of some decent prospects and already the form is proving strong (first three have all won since). Ignored in the market (50/1) he produced a promising debut; this trip to bring out more.
Newcomer who cost 40,000 guineas at a 2017 Breeze-up but never ran as a juvenile. Sister to a useful two-year-old winner (1m) Ghaawy and half-sister to a couple of winners over further. Respected as yard decent record with their runners here.
Made a promising debut despite only beating one home in a muddling race at Haycock over 1m3f (stayed on well after getting outpaced). The form has proved quite strong the 1-2-3 all winning subsequently and she'll know more this time around.
Third runner in the race for the trainer this one being his sole three-year-old in the race. Like her stablemates though it's hard to see her making much impact with her previous two runs having shown very little.
Her pedigree (related to plenty of winners; dam also a winner) suggested that she could be useful but she lacked the know-how to do herself justice on AW debut over a shorter trip (handled with care). More expected but looks the lesser of yards duo.

Hamlul (7/4), Recordman (11/4), Scaramanga (6/1), Ben Vrackie (15/2), Elasia (8/1), Natural History (10/1), Lady Baker (50/1), Alpine Glow (50/1), Paris Dixie (66/1), Sweet Marmalade (66/1), Hereyouare (125/1), Disturb (150/1), Kissesforeveryone (200/1), E Si Si Muove (200/1)
Several of these made promising debuts in races that have worked out or are working out well and it should be an informative event. John Gosden has a good strike-rate with his three-year-old here and his duo of Ben Vrackie and Lady Baker should both be noted with the former expected to come on from his Newbury debut. Scaramanga emerges from a very warm race at Sandown and he’s another who will be more forward this time around. HAMLUL is a touch more experienced than that duo with his debut run working out well and his second last time out (to Sleeping Lion) reading particularly well in the light of his subsequent handicap win. Recordman, Natural History and Elasia are others worthy of note.
- Hamlul
- Scaramanga
- Ben Vrackie
