Beaten out of sight in novices' contests at Newcastle (6f) and Wolverhampton (7f) in the past couple of weeks, including when hooded last time. Impossible to recommend even with this drop in grade.

Very modest form in novices'/handicap company so far, his best effort being over this trip on his handicap debut at Kempton last month. Looks to have too much to find at these weights now dropped in grade.

Has recorded her best two efforts at this venue, including last time out when beaten just 1L over 5f in a handicap. Also has a win over this trip to her name at Kempton and a repeat of either performance would see her closely involved.

Hasn't fulfilled her early promise and remains a maiden after 11 starts, though her two seconds at Chelmsford (5f/6f) in handicaps are clearly the best recent form on offer here and in first-time cheekpieces she should take all the beating.

Well beaten in all four starts so far from 5f-1m, two of them being here. We have seen nothing so far that offers any cause for optimism even now dropped to the basement level and she is readily opposed.

Mother of Dragons (4/6), Inuk (9/5), Counterfeit (4/1), Jazz Affair (8/1), Swiss Psalm (66/1), Aonedamproofing (80/1)

Verdict

Poor fayre to kick things off and MOTHER OF DRAGONS is a confident choice. Phil McEntee's filly is the clear pick on form and at these weights and it will be a surprise if anything is good enough to turn her over. Richard Hughes is double-handed, so check the market for clues as to the relative merits of his two runners Inuk and Counterfeit, though on the face of it the former looks the more likely to be forecast material and the latter may be battling for third place with Jazz Affair.
