Has performed well over 1m6f and seems to have no lack of stamina, 3lb rise cancelled out by the return of George Wood and his claim to the saddle, and a bold bid is anticipated.
Steps up to this trip for the first time having won over shorter at this course last time out. Half-brother stayed just shorter than this and given she's unexposed she holds leading claims provided she does too.
Not a bad effort over C&D last time but more needed now with blinkers applied for the first time; yet to be given much assistance by the handicapper and probably best watched until he is.
Consistent sort who has been placed in five of his last six races and ran well when stepping up to this trip at Goodwood last time when finishing a way ahead of Veiled Secret.
Didn't seem to have the stamina for 2m when finding nothing off the bridle at Goodwood last time out when trying this trip for the first time. Possible he has other excuses, though, and possibly worth another try at this far if so.
Chepstow maiden winner who is yet to show anything in handicap company; this step up in trip not the most obvious move based on pedigree.
First time cheek pieces and step up in trip did the trick at Redcar last time and should stay further. Untried on Polytrack but surface unlikely to be an issue.
Remains a maiden and yet to serious threaten a winner; needs to leave last effort when tailed off at Chelmsford a very long way behind, though something seemed amiss on that occasion.
Forecasts
Master Archer (5/2), Sussex Ranger (3/1), Munstead Star (4/1), Lethal Impact (5/1), Veiled Secret (7/1), Plage Depampelonne (25/1), Sure To Explore (33/1), Gee Sixty Six (33/1)
Few of these are proven at this far but a few of them have a good chance of staying this distance. MASTER ARCHER is one who seems sure to thrive for the step up to this distance, as he seems to have an abundance of stamina, and though he hasn't been at his best here in the past that may well have been trip related; he should go close on this occasion. Munstead Star won here last time and should also be on the premises, while the consistent Sussex Ranger completes the tricast.
- Master Archer
- Munstead Star
- Sussex Ranger
