Rapidly-improving gelding on the evidence of front-running wins over 1m 4f at York (handicap) and Newmarket (Listed), both achieved on an easy surface. Likely to give another good account with ground in his favour.
Experienced campaigner with five AW wins but only once success from 16 attempts on turf. Third in this race 12 months ago but indifferent form since, running poorly at York latest. Easy surface probably not ideal.
Runner-up in an above average Group 3 contest at Chester last time out in May but slight concern he's not been seen since. Showed a liking for this track when scoring over C&D (good to firm) last year but niggling questions marks on an easy surface.
Really came of age last season with four wins at around this trip, whilst also handling this track when a close fourth in a good handicap. Excuses in defeat both starts this season and an easy surface evidently no problem. Respected.
Group 1 winner in Germany for Luca Cumani before losing his way a little last year, however landed a Listed race over C&D (good to firm) in May. Narrowly edged out by Lord Yeats at Newmarket (good to soft) latest but re-opposes on 3lb better terms. Shortlisted.
Caused a 25/1 shock in landing a Listed handicap at Ascot in June, just holding off Majeed with Scarlet Dragon (now 7lb better off) 2L further back. Couldn't back that form up at York next time and needs to bounce back.

Forecasts
Poet's Word (7/4), Frontiersman (2/1), Second Step (10/3), Lord Yeats (7/2), Scarlet Dragon (9/2), Crimean Tatar (12/1), Snoano (14/1), Majeed (25/1)
Frontiersman and Poet's Word lead the way on official ratings but both have question marks against them on ground this soft, so confirmed mud-lovers Scarlet Dragon and LORD YEATS may throw up some value. Preference is for the latter who has taken his form to another level with recent wins at York and Newmarket and this track should play to his strengths. Second Step, who chased the selection home at Newmarket, should also be in the mix.
