The 7f Doncaster handicap win was his best effort this year when he really benefitted from the run of the race from the front under a good ride. Hasn't matched that on either start since but is still 3lb above his last winning mark.
Scored on his first two starts as a juvenile over 5f at Musselburgh and Hamilton and showed up well enough on his handicap debut in October off a mark 85 switched on to the AW. Now back from a break and upped to 7f for the first time but does have some potential but may just need to settle a little better in his races.
Dual winner in France last year for previous connections with the wins coming over 7f and a mile. Made his debut for this yard at Carlisle recently upped to 1m3f (raced off the pace) but showed very little and the blinkers go on here as he steps back to his last winning trip and worth watching in the market.
Has the up-and-downs of Epsom to blame for his poor run last time when he really didn't look suited by that quirky track. Probably better judged on his previous efforts at Beverley and Musselburgh although he is now 10lb above his winning mark from the former track but this test on a more conventional track will suit better.
The second of two runners in this for the stable and this one certainly found some improvement to win last time out at Beverley in a 7f maiden. Previous handicap efforts had looked sound efforts and his chance is respected here in what looks to be a fair contest.
Returned to winning ways off the back of a quick return at Musselburgh last time winning in clear cut fashion and making it 2/2 over C&D. Raced with zest last time out and showed a decent turn of food to win by 2L and he should make a bold bid to follow-up off a 6lb higher mark.
Forecasts
Atteq (9/4), Our Charlie Brown (11/4), Navarone (4/1), Aardwolf (9/2), Lomu (6/1), Something Brewing (20/1)
The rise in the handicap of 6lb may not be enough to stop OUR CHARLIE BROWN following up his Musselburgh win which was gained in clear-cut fashion. The Fahey duo could be dangerous with Atteq preferred to Navarone back on a more conventional track. The most interesting runner apart from the market leader looks to be Lomu who steps up in trip by 2f but clearly has potential to improve on his juvenile form if he stays the longer trip.
- Our Charlie Brown
- Atteq
- Lomu
