Stable in fine form recently, and this £135,000 Cheltenham February 2017 sales purchase looks a useful prospect. Comfortably dispatched Back Bar (8/11f) at Thurles on debut in February, and a brother to four winners including Minella Daddy and Noble Endeavour should take all of the beating. By Flemensfirth so should handle this ground.
Irish Point-to-Point winner who built upon a tame stable debut at Kempton in February with a 6L success in a weak Ludlow bumper late last month. Head carriage was a shade concerning that afternoon, and it's a worry as to how he'll handle quicker ground here, but hailing form this stable is much respected.
A fairly distant third on debut at Newcastle in February to Al Shahir. Will encounter much less demanding conditions here, but the runner up in that race (Wig Wam Wiggle) has been well held in two subsequent starts, so the form may be moderate. However, with a leading yard, and early days overall for his career.
Tailed off on debut at Exeter in February on soft ground, but entitled to improve now encountering better ground. Related to a couple of winning chasers and looks more of a longer term project.

Beaten just over 9L when fourth of 14 to the Willie Mullins trained Come To Me on debut in a Punchestown bumper in December 2016. Trainer a regular source of winners in bumpers at this track, and much respected despite encountering less testing conditions.
First foal, by Kayf Tara out of I'm Delilah. Dam was a bumper/hurdle and chase winner in the North, and this gelding is also related to Watch My Back. One to note for market support for a leading trainer/jockey combination in the North.
Showed little in Irish Point-to-Points for Iain Ferguson despite being bred for stamina. This €45,000 three-year-old has since joined a leading trainer in England and could be capable of better on his first start under rules.

Not achieved much in two starts so far (Point-to-Point, and a Downpatrick bumper), and given his pedigree (Flat) is difficult to fancy against some of these rivals.

Forecasts

Whatswrongwithyou (15/8), Hello Bertie (4/1), Planet Nine (9/2), Anywaythewindblows (5/1), Golden Jeffrey (6/1), Gleno (7/1), Going Gold (8/1), Ragged Wood (12/1), Get Wishing (16/1), Tambow (50/1)

Verdict

A fascinating bumper with Crawford, Twiston-Davies, Jefferson, Richards, and Henderson runners amongst the line up. However, it is the Rose Dobbin trained PLANET NINE who very much catches the eye. He cost a tidy sum after winning at Thurles in February and looks a most exciting prospect. His rider Lorcan Murtagh's 7lb claim effectively removes his penalty. Golden Jeffrey would appear to be the chief danger. He demolished inferior rivals at Ayr on his second career start, and has since left Mark Johnston for Iain Jardine, and he also has a useful 7lb claimer booked.
  1. Planet Nine
  2. Golden Jeffrey
  3. Gleno
