The north has dominated the Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month Awards for December, with Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Grimsby claiming the prizes.
Sky Bet Championship
Wednesday forward Lucas Joao has claimed the Sky Bet Championship Award after his stunning strike in The Owl's 4-2 defeat at Blackburn Rovers on December 1.
It continues the club's dominance this season, with teammates Barry Bannan and Adam Reach having already won this Award this campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Sporting Life, Joao said: “Thank you to everyone that voted for me. I’m happy to have scored such a great goal and to win this award for the club.
“It’s nice that Sheffield Wednesday have won this award three times this season, especially at a time when we aren’t performing as well as we like. It means a lot to us. This also recognises the quality we have in the team.”
Sky Bet League One
Fellow Yorkshire club Barnsley have won the Sky Bet League One accolade thanks to Cauley Woodrow's 25 yarder on Boxing Day in their 2-0 win over Peterborough.

“It is nice to be rewarded for scoring a nice goal and is extra special as I’ve not won anything like this before.”
“It all happened so quickly in the build-up, but I remember cutting inside from the left and hearing the crowd shout shoot, so I thought ‘why not’ and thankfully it went it.
“I knew as soon as it left my foot that it was in and it was extra special because all my family had come up from London to watch the game. So to celebrate with them and also help give the Barnsley fans a good victory was special."
Sky Bet League Two
In Sky Bet League Two, Grimsby Town's Wes Thomas scoops the trophy after another great Boxing Day goal.
He jinked inside and fired an arrowhead of a shot into the far top corner against Port Vale.
Thomas said: “It is nice. I’ve never won this one so it is nice to hear. I am really grateful that the fans have voted for me and it is a real honour to receive the award. It’s obviously right up there in terms of the best goals of my career.”
