Man Utd 18/1 for trophy treble after EFL Cup win

Manchester United are 18/1 to complete a trophy treble this season following their EFL Cup final success.

The Red Devils beat Southampton 3-2 at Wembley thanks to a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic header and were quickly cut into 18/1 by Sky Bet to add the FA Cup and Europa League trophies to their collection in Jose Mourinho’s first season at the helm.

United will face Chelsea away in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup next month, while they have been drawn against Rostov in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Sky Bet also have them at 1,000/1 to complete an unprecedented Quadruple by also claiming the Premier League title. They are, however, currently 15 points behind leaders Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand.

A more realistic Premier League target would appear to be a top-four finish for which they are quoted at 6/5 by the Leeds-based firm.

On the plus side, Mourinho’s men have lost just one of their last 25 games in all competitions and that was the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final against Hull.

For them to win a trophy treble – or quadruple this season – they will need to play a further 23 matches over the next three months, the last of which would be the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 27.

Ibrahimovic to score a header was a Sky Bet Price Boost before the game at 7/1 (from 4/1) while the firm's requestabet markets - suggested by punters - produced a series of big-priced winners.

They included Ibrahimovic to score two or more goals and Jack Stephens and Oriel Romeu to be carded at 100/1, and  both teams to score in both halves and 15 or more match corners at the same price.

Meanwhile, the Swede has been cut from 12/1 to 8/1 to be named PFA Player of the Year following his match-winning display.
