Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has congratulated Granit Xhaka after the Swiss midfielder penned a new long-term deal at the Emirates.

He told the club's website: “I’m delighted that Granit has extended his contract with us. He’s an important member of the squad and is still young so will be able to develop even more. I hope he has a successful World Cup with Switzerland and comes back fit and ready for the new season.”

Bologna left-back Adam Masina is having medical at Watford ahead of permanent transfer, with personal terms already agreed, according to Sky Sports.

L'Equipe say Bordeaux are considering a move for Southampton playmaker Sofiane Boufal, especially if they lose Malcom

Bordeaux are keen to make an impact in the Europa League and apparently have set their sights on Boufal, who has struggled for first-team football at St Mary’s.

Malcom’s future remains uncertain, with Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Inter Milan all reportedly interested in the 21-year-old.

New Everton manager Marco Silva wants to create "balance" in his squad this summer.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Silva wants to add only a handful of signings and aims to trim his squad from 38 players to around 25.

He is also keen to freshen the squad with some young players, telling the Echo: "It is always good when you have this balance.

"Some experience, some young players, some fresh players as well but I cannot tell you if the squad is too old or not – it's not fair for me."

Real Madrid have announced they have reached an agreement with Santos to sign youngster Rodrygo.

The fee for the 17-year-old is reportedly €45million (£39.3m).

He would be able to join Real in January 2019 when he turns 18, but will stay with Santos until the summer.
