1710:  Mauricio Pellegrino has been appointed as the new Southampton manager on a three-year deal. Click here for the full story.

1700: And yet another Premier League star falls for the charms of Chinese football. Well not quite.

Victor Anichebe, who was released by Sunderland following their doomed campaign, has signed for second-tier side Beijing Enterprises.

It's part of a slowing trend of big names heading to China since they increased the tax rate on foreign signings to 100 per cent.

Indeed, the option of joining 'any Chinese club' is only the shortest price in one player's market, Wayne Rooney's.

What that says about the Chinese Super League or Rooney is up for debate, but it certainly seems like the gold rush is slowing down for professional footballers.

1500: Sky Bet have suspended betting on the future of Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Chelsea backed at as short as 1/10 to sign the Monaco midfielder.

The Blues are thought to have agreed a £32m deal for the 22-year-old, which has sparked further interest in Nemanja Matic joining Manchester United.

Speculation has been rife that the Serbian wants to reunite with Jose Mourinho, an even-chance is Sky Bet's transfer specials.

1415: Are Liverpool on the brink of signing Kylian Mbappe? In a word, no.

Marca are reporting that the Reds have launched a 100m euros (£88m) bid for the Monaco young star, but have zero chance of securing his services.

According to the Spanish newspaper, the 18-year-old has told owner Dmitri Rybolovlev that he only wants to leave for Real Madrid, if and when he believes he will be a regular starter.

That might not be until Cristiano Ronaldo leaves, but we are unlikely have any sort of clarity about the 32-year-old’s summer movements until after the Confederations Cup.

That’s when he’ll sit down with recently re-elected president Florentino Perez, who insists the club are yet to make or receive any offers.

Either way, he’s not going to join Liverpool, supported by the fact that Sky Bet give them a 25/1 chance of securing his services.

Arsenal are 5/2 chances but unlikely to offer any more appeal to the revelation of last season’s Champions League campaign as they drop down into the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Monaco midfielder Fabinho has confirmed he would be tempted by a move to Manchester United, while Ronald de Boer has revealed that his brother Frank is excited by the prospect of taking over at Crystal Palace.

1230: It's all gone very quiet in the transfer world but do not fear, we've found some sensational quotes from Juventus youngster Moise Kean to keep you entertained.

The 17-year-old has cast doubt over his future in Turin by revealing a somewhat unusual contract issue. Enjoy...

"Juventus offered a contract of €700,000-a-year, which was fine, but the problem is they had also promised me some tractors for my agricultural business in the Ivory Coast, but now they say there is no budget for them," he told Tuttosport.

"I own several hectares of land in the Ivory Coast which I would like to cultivate with rice and corn. I'm an agronomist. I asked for agricultural materials and they told me "no problem". However, the other day, Juve's lawyer contacted me to tell me that the contract offer had been revoked because my requests were out of their means."

1045: A story we tipped you off about yesterday, Leeds have completed the signing of Poland midfielder Mateusz Klich.

The 27-year-old arrives on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £1.5m, having scored six goals and assisted another four for FC Twente last season.

0920: Remember when Liverpool insisted they had ended their pursuit of Virgil van Dijk? Well the money is suggesting that they’re going back in for the Dutchman, presumably via more ethical methods.

The Reds have been cut to just 1/2 by Sky Bet to secure his services this summer following a run of bets on Thursday evening, with Chelsea out to 7/2 despite Paper Talk suggesting the champions are making their move.

With a £60m bid suggested, Southampton are now 9/2 to keep hold of their star centre-back, while Manchester City are all but written off at 10/1.

Jurgen Klopp will surely focus on improving his backline now after completing the signing of Mohamed Salah, with his side conceding more goals than the three sides above them in the Premier League last season.

They are 100/30 to land left-back Aaron Cresswell from West Ham and 9/4 to move for Hull’s Andrew Robertson, while they are second in the betting behind Manchester City for both Benjamin Mendy and Ryan Bertrand.

0705: There's certainly no shortage of rumours and speculation in today's papers, with Chelsea reportedly closing in on a £100million double swoop for Juventus stars Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro

While the Blues are odds-on to seal a deal for Sandro, they are still out at 5/2 to snap up Bonucci, who is 4/9 to stay with the Turin giants.

Alexis Sanchez's future unsurprisingly gets more column inches, with Manchester City planning a £50million bid to test Arsenal's resolve.

His future remains thorougly unclear, with the Chile star is 13/8 to move up north to the Etihad Stadium and 5/4 to stay loyal to the Gunners.
