The £250,000 Soccer Saturday Super 6 jackpot has been won by 54-year-old Leeds United fan Brendan Dolan.
For the second time in eight days, the top prize has been scooped, as Brendan correctly guessed six scores from the afternoon’s football, scoring the maximum 30 points in the free-to-play game.
Five players predicted all six scorelines from a selection of Premier League and Sky Bet Championship matches, but Brendan, from Bradford in Yorkshire, is the lucky winner after also correctly selecting the Golden Goal time of nine minutes.
Brendan told Super 6 how he witnessed the drama unfolding through Jeff Stelling’s updates on Gillette Soccer Saturday, and thought the jackpot chance had gone before Danny Welbeck’s 93rd minute strike brought him to 30 points.
He said: “I was stripping down a friend’s door and only paying half attention to the show, but when I saw Leeds had gone 2-0 up I stopped and watched it for a while.
“I moved onto 21 points by about 70 minutes, and thought that’ll be good for my work league. I’ve only got 20 points all season before yesterday.
“Then another goal went in and I was up to five correct scores, but still didn’t think I’d win it. Only when Danny Welbeck scored, did I start to believe. I told my wife I was on 30 points. My phone froze so I couldn’t check which minute I’d put for the Golden Goal. I thought I’d had 11, so still wasn’t sure I’d won.
“It’s pure luck, there’s no skill involved at all. I had a few beers last night for my brother’s birthday to celebrate, it started to sink in about 10 o’clock.
“We’ve got a couple of holidays already booked for the rest of the year, so this win is fantastic.”
The win comes immediately after three players shared the boosted £1million Super 6 jackpot last weekend, so there's never been a better time to enter the game, which is back again for a weekend round on Tuesday (August 28).
