New Group Bets format: The Sporting Life team give their weekend wagers for their Group Bet

Take a look at the Saturday selections from the Sporting Life team as they embark on week 18 of their Group Bet campaign, a new way to bet on football at Sky Bet.

Our football team have created their own group and if you want to do the same, all you have to do is set one up and invite your friends before building an accumulator together.

Once all group players have chipped in with their selection, you can choose whether you want to back it as an accumulator or take out a leg of the bet, in case you think one of your mates has thrown in a dodgy choice.

Week 17 Reaction:

Pigs may be flying, but Billy Lumsden saw Middlesbrough dispatch QPR to gift him his first win in nine, while George Pitts also tasted victory with his Mansfield selection. Ben Linfoot saw a rare defeat as Crystal Palace made sure they went home with the spoils rather than sharing them at the King Power Stadium.

Sunderland also ensured that Tom Carnduff did not see a winning selection, as they won 2-0 at Bristol Rovers, although Carnduff does remain at the top of the table, with Pitts levelling with Linfoot to reduce the gap to three. Here are the current Sporting Life Group Bet standings:

  1. Tom Carnduff: W-W-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-W-L-W-W-W-L-L (18 PTS)
  2. Ben Linfoot: W-L-W-L-W-W-W (15 PTS)
  3. George Pitts: W-L-L-L-W-L-W-W-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-W-W (12 PTS)
  4. Billy Lumsden: L-W-L-L-L-L-L-W-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-W (9 PTS)
  5. Paul Higham: L-W-L-L-L-L-L-W (6 PTS)
  6. Chris Hammer: L-L (0 PTS)

Check out Sporting Life's Group Bet for Saturday's Premier League and EFL action, which is made up of four selections from the team:

Billy Lumsden: Portsmouth (to beat Bradford) - 8/13

Portsmouth have remarkably drawn their last five Sky Bet League One matches, failing to score in only one against Barnsley, which was a top-of-the-table clash. However, Kenny Jackett's side are sitting in fourth with just over a quarter of the season left to play, and it is the perfect opportunity for them to return to winning ways as they face managerless Bradford.

George Pitts: Wolves (to beat Cardiff) - 1/2

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have not won in their last three Premier League outings, but coming up against a struggling City side could provide them with a great opportunity to bounce back as they look to stay top of the pack outside the top six. Cardiff have conceded an astonishing eight goals in their last two games and Wolves can capitalise on their fragility at the back to return to winning ways.

Tom Carnduff: Blackpool (to beat Bristol Rovers) - 21/10

Both sides have identical form in recent weeks but events off-the-pitch should, for once, give Blackpool a lift on it. A change in ownership signals a new dawn for the club and they'll be looking to mark it with victory. A win could also move them to within three points of the play-off places.

Ben Linfoot: Burnley and Palace to draw - 9/4

A meeting between two sides clear of the relegation fight for now, 15th and 14th respectively, both on 30 points and that is down to strong starts to the calendar year.

Both have been on great runs, both lost in midweek and they could cancel each other out to share the points here.

FOUR-FOLD ODDS: 23.41/1 with Sky Bet
