Dean Smith is the odds-on favourite to replace Gary Rowett as manager of Derby County.
The 47-year-old is currently manager of fellow Sky Bet Championship side Brentford, who came close to making the play-offs after an end-of-season surge up the table.
Midlands-born Smith has been in charge at Griffin Park since 2015, which followed four years at Walsall, and Sky Bet have priced him at 5/6 to take over at Pride Park.
The Rams, who missed out on promotion this season after losing to Fulham in the play-offs, are searching for a new manager after Rowett quit in order to take up the vacancy at Stoke City.
It means Derby are now searching for their fifth permanent manager in three years
Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill is also in the running at 3/1, while former Derby winger Paul Simpson, who guided England’s U20s to World Cup glory last year, can be backed at 5/1.
Alex Neil and Mick McCarthy faced Derby as managers in the second tier last season, and they are both 10/1 for the post.
