Sky Bet League Two round-up: 10-man Luton win

A review of Saturday's action in Sky Bet League Two, where 10-man Luton were 1-0 winners and Swindon won a thriller against Crewe.

Sky Bet League Two results

  • Carlisle 1-0 Forest Green
  • Cheltenham 1-1 Barnet
  • Chesterfield 0-1 Stevenage
  • Crawley 2-1 Accrington
  • Grimsby 1-0 Luton
  • Morecambe 1-2 Mansfield
  • Port Vale 2-2 Colchester
  • Swindon 4-3 Crewe

League Two leaders Luton survived the first half dismissal of Jordan Cook to beat Grimsby 1-0 at Blundell Park.

Jordan Cook was sent off in the 33rd minute after picking up his second yellow card following a late tackle.

Four minutes into the second half, the visitors took the lead through James Collins' close range effort.

With an extra man advantage, Grimsby could not find an equaliser to prevent Luton from going nine points clear at the top of the table. Second-placed Notts County were in FA Cup action and Luton are now 1/7 for the title.

Malvind Benning was Mansfield's unlikely match winner but his stoppage-time goal secured a 2-1 win at Morecambe to move Town up to third.

Callum Lang gave the home side the lead after half an hour before Danny Rose levelled with 20 minutes to play.

In the closing second of the game, Benning popped up with the winner. Mansfield are 2/1 for promotion as a result.

Two goals from Enzio Boldewijn helped Crawley return to winning ways against Accrington.

The striker struck in the 15th and 33rd minute before Josh Yorwerth's own goal gave the visitors hope with 34 minutes to play, but Crawley held on to claim the three points.

It was Crawley's seventh win in their last 10 league games.

Swindon staged a remarkable comeback to come from 3-1 down to beat Crewe 4-3 at the County Ground.

Marc Richards' second goal of the game in the 89th minute proved to be the decisive blow in a seven-goal thriller.

Richards had given the home side a third minute lead before Callum Ainley equalised in the 15th minute before giving Crewe the lead with his second after half an hour.

Ryan Wintle's goal six minutes after half-time gave the visitors a two-goal lead before supersub Elsnik scored twice for Swindon to make it 3-3.

Crewe had Zoumana Bakayogo sent off with 10 minutes left and, with time running out, Richards won the game for Town.

David Worrall's goal three minutes from time secured a point for Port Vale who drew 2-2 with Colchester.

It was Worrall's second equaliser of the game after he cancelled out Courtney Senior's early goal for Colchester.

Drey Wright struck just before the interval to give the visitors a 2-1 lead before Worrall left it late to earn Vale a point.

Barnet blew a chance to close the gap between themselves and Forest Green to two points after they drew 1-1 at Cheltenham.

The Bees led after just two minutes of play after Ricardo Santos' goal.

But Mohamed Eisa earned Cheltenham a point with his equaliser in the 65th minute to ensure that Barnet remain odds-on for the drop.

Jamie Devitt scored the only goal of the game for Carlisle who beat Forest Green 1-0 at Brunton Park.

Forest Green are into 5/4 for relegation with Carlisle now as good as safe at 1,000/1.

Ben Kennedy's goal three minutes into the second half proved to be the match winner for Stevenage at Chesterfield, with the latter now 7/4 to go down.
