Luton got back to winning ways to extend their lead at the top of Sky Bet Bet League Two to six points after closest challengers Notts County were defeated by Exeter.

The Hatters - now 2/9 to win the title with the league's sponsors - suffered a surprise loss at lowly Chesterfield last week and were largely second best against Morecambe at Kenilworth Road.

But Olly Lee's free-kick was headed home by Johnny Mullins in the 64th minute to hand Luton a 1-0 victory, which would have been savoured all the more after Exeter triumphed 2-1 at Notts County.

Jake Taylor tapped in the rebound after Dean Moxey hit a post in the eighth minute while the Grecians were two goals to the good just before half-time thanks to Jayden Stockley's cool finish.

Jon Stead's 73rd-minute penalty, after Troy Archibald-Henville fouled substitute Shola Ameobi, set up a tense finale but Exeter held on to secure all three points which moved them up to fifth.

County are second-favourites at 10/1 to be crowned champions, while Sky Bet eased them out to 8/13 to gain promotion by any means, with Exeter 7/4 in the latter market.

Accrington - 11/10 to go up - remain third after rallying from two goals down to edge out Port Vale 3-2.

First-half goals from Tom Pope and Michael Tonge had seemingly put the visiting Valiants on their way to a surprise victory but Sean McConville's double, either side of Billy Kee's leveller, gave Accrington their fourth consecutive win.

Paris Cowan-Hall, Nathan Tyson and Craig Mackail-Smith scored as fifth-placed Wycombe (13/8 for promotion) clinched a tense 3-2 win over Crewe, whose goals came from Chris Porter's penalty and Harry McKirdy.

Coventry are up to sixth after a goal in either half from Marc McNulty - the first from the penalty spot - plus one from Maxime Biamou sealed a 3-1 win over Swindon, whose effort from Ollie Banks proved mere consolation.

Lincoln remain seventh after coming from behind to clinch a 1-1 draw at rock-bottom Barnet, playing for the first time under new head coach Graham Westley.

Former Stevenage, Preston and Peterborough manager Westley watched as his side took the lead through John Akinde but substitute James Wilson levelled matters shortly after his introduction.

Despite the point, Barnet are now six points adrift of safety and into 8/13 for the drop after Kristian Dennis' last-gasp goal sealed a 2-1 win for Chesterfield at Yeovil.

The points looked to be shared when Louis Reed's free-kick midway through the second half was cancelled out by Lewis Wing but Dennis gave the Spireites all three points before Otis Khan saw red late on.

Forest Green remain in the bottom two despite coming from 2-1 down to beat Cambridge 5-2.

Early goals from George Maris and Medy Elito, either side of Christian Doidge equalising, put Cambridge in charge but Dayle Grubb scored either side of the interval before Doidge and Tahvon Campbell added gloss to the scoreline.

Ten-man Mansfield twice hit back from a goal down before clinching a 3-2 win at home to Cheltenham, who had two men sent off in a fiery clash.

Harry Pell's penalty put the Robins ahead but, after CJ Hamilton had equalised, Taylor Moore was dismissed before the sides were levelled up when Mansfield's Hayden White was given his marching orders.

Elijah Adebayo put Cheltenham in front once more but Kane Hemmings levelled and the visitors ended the match with nine men when substitute Danny Wright was sent off. Hamilton then struck in the fourth minute of injury time.

Charles Vernam's opener was cancelled out by Sean Murray as Grimsby drew 1-1 at Colchester and Stevenage drew 0-0 with Carlisle.
