Accrington Stanley lift the Sky Bet League Two title

Saturday's action

A goalless draw for Morecambe at Coventry was enough to keep them in the Sky Bet EFL at the expense of Barnet.

Martin Allen's side did all they could, beating relegated Chesterfield 3-0 thanks to goals from John Akinde, Richard Brindley and Alex Nicholls, but they also needed Morecambe to lose.

With Coventry knowing a point would guarantee them a place in the play-offs, there was little incentive for either side to push, and it was no surprise that the match ended 0-0.

There is still a lot of work to do for the Sky Blues if they are to begin climbing back up the leagues but this marks the first time they have finished in the top six of any division since 1970.

Lincoln clinched the final play-off place with a 1-1 draw against Yeovil. It was a tense afternoon for the Imps, who trailed for a long time after Jordan Green scored a 10th-minute opener for Yeovil.

Matt Green missed a glorious chance to equalise, seeing his penalty saved and then hitting the rebound against the underside of the bar, but Tom Pett eased the nerves with a 77th-minute equaliser.

Mansfield needed to win and for either Coventry or Lincoln to lose to stand a chance of sneaking into the top seven but they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Crawley.

The visitors led through Karlan Ahearne-Grant's early goal but Kane Hemmings deservedly equalised in the 64th minute and was denied a winner by a linesman's flag.

Exeter and Notts County were both guaranteed play-off spots, and the Grecians managed their first win in three, Robbie Simpson scoring in a 1-0 win over Colchester. County played out a goalless draw against second-place Luton, who had Danny Hylton sent off.

Champions Accrington ended a superb season on a losing note, going down 3-0 to Swindon. Marc Richards, Keshi Anderson and Paul Mullin scored the goals while both sides finished with 10 men after Swindon's James Dunne and Jimmy Dunne of Accrington were sent off.

Third-placed Wycombe welcomed a bumper crowd to Adams Park to celebrate their promotion and long-serving midfielder Matt Bloomfield scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Stevenage.

Cambridge finished their season on an emphatic note, David Amoo and Harrison Dunk scoring within two minutes of each other in the first half and Brad Halliday, Barry Corr and Billy Waters netting in the second to clinch a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Port Vale.

Forest Green and Grimsby had both achieved their aim of staying in the division, but it was the visiting Mariners who came out on top, JJ Hooper scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory.

Shaun Miller scored twice as Crewe, fielding an all home-grown XI defeated Cheltenham 2-1. George Lloyd had equalised but Miller came up with his second in the 64th minute.

Carlisle and Newport played out a 1-1 draw, with County's Padraig Amond scoring his 13th of the season to cancel out Mark Ellis' opener.
