Sky Bet League One review: Shrewsbury remain top of the table

A round-up of the action from Sky Bet League One on Tuesday as Shrewsbury beat Southend to remain top of the table.

Shrewsbury stay top of the table after maintaining their 100 per cent home record with a 1-0 win against struggling Southend.

Jon Nolan's 23rd-minute goal was the difference between the two teams and means the Shrews have dropped just two points in League One so far this season.

Southend remain without a victory since the opening day of the campaign and have suffered back-to- back defeats after losing at Charlton on Saturday.

Peterborough are up to second in the standings after second-half goals from Ryan Tafazolli and Marcus Maddison sunk rivals MK Dons at the ABAX Stadium.

Wigan bounced back from defeat at Shrewsbury with a 3-0 win at Charlton thanks to two goals from Gavin Massey and another from Sam Morsy.

Oxford and Bradford have both started the season strongly and Romain Vincelot's injury-time header ensured they shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the Kassam Stadium.

Omari Patrick put the visitors in front but late goals from Wes Thomas and Joe Rothwell turned the game on its head, before Vincelot rescued a point for Bradford.

Blackpool have begun life back in League One in impressive fashion and got the better of Plymouth, who came up with the Seasiders. Colin Daniel, Jimmy Ryan and Nathan Delfouneso scored in a 3-1 win, with Sonny Bradley heading Plymouth level just after half-time.

Oldham are off the bottom of the table after winning 3-2 at Bristol Rovers. Jack Byrne and Craig Davies put the Latics in control but goals from Rory Gaffney and Ryan Sweeney bought the hosts level. However, Eoin Doyle headed the winner with two minutes left.

Gillingham are bottom after a 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon. Sean Clare cancelled out Andy Barcham's opener and Lee Martin was sent off for the hosts just before half-time.

Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink made it two wins from two matches as Northampton boss. Matt Crooks struck in between a Chris Long double in a 3-1 home victory over Portsmouth, who pulled a goal back through Matthew Kennedy.

Injury-time strikes from Mark Kitching and Steven Davies gave Rochdale a dramatic 2-1 home win over Doncaster, who led through John Marquis' goal.

Marcus Antonsson scored the only goal of the game as Blackburn won at Scunthorpe while Rotherham thrashed Walsall 5-1 thanks to a Lee Frecklington hat-trick and a double from Jon Taylor. Amadou Bakayoko replied for the Saddlers.

Jordy Hiwula could have had a hat-trick in Fleetwood's 3-2 win over Bury but missed a penalty before putting the hosts two goals ahead. Jermaine Beckford and Josh Laurent levelled things up but Ashley Hunter netted the winning goal. Beckford might have rescued a point for Bury but he missed an injury time penalty.
