Watch Sergio Aguero's dramatic Manchester City title-winning goal against QPR

Watch Sergio Aguero's dramatic stoppage-time goal for Manchester City that clinched a 3-2 win over QPR and with it the 2011/12 Premier League title.

"AGUEROOOOO!!! I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again. So watch it, drink it in."

That line of commentary from Sky Sports' Martin Tyler is probably just as, if not more iconic than the goal itself. If I'm being over the top, then at the very least Tyler helped ensure its place in the annals of great footballing moments for all of time.

Sergio Aguero wheeled away in celebration and peeled off his shirt having fired in the most crucial goal in Manchester City's history, clinching a first league title in 44 years and marking the beginning of a dominant period under their Abu Dhabi-based ownership.

But things nearly turned out very differently on that balmy afternoon at the Etihad Stadium on May 13, 2012.

Drama before the drama

City and Manchester United started the final day of the season level on points, but a vastly superior goal difference meant Roberto Mancini's team need only match their bitter rivals' result and they'd be champions.

The first half had an expected level of moderate drama. Wayne Rooney's goal put United ahead at Sunderland, positioning them as champions-elect for all of 19 minutes, as Pablo Zabaleta's strike against QPR saw City move back into the driving seat.

It was after the break that the real drama started.

City capitulation

Just after half-time, QPR striker Djibril Cisse rifled in to make it 1-1 and put Sir Alex Ferguson's side back on top of the live table.

Then, the tension boiled over at The Etihad. Former City midfielder Joey Barton is sent off following a clash with Carlos Tevez and then proceeds to kick Sergio Aguero on his way off the pitch as well.

Despite being a man down, Rangers take the lead through Jamie Mackie.

Unless there is a turnaround at the Stadium of Light, City have 24 minutes to score twice.

"AGUEROOOOO!!!"

The final whistle had blown in the north east: Sunderland 0-1 Manchester United.

City were entering six minutes of injury time, still needing two goals. Surely it was all over?

But in the 92nd minute Edin Dzeko headed home to give his side the faintest glimmer of hope, or at the very least delay the celebrations on Wearside.

And then came the moment that will be talked about for generations.

As the clock ticked towards 95 minutes, Aguero plays a one-two with an off balance Mario Balotelli, moves towards the right-hand-side of the box, dummies, goes by another ex-City player Nedum Onuoha and...

Fires past a helpless Paddy Kenny.

Imagine if he'd saved it!

"AGUEROOOOO!!! I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again. So watch it, drink it in."

Re-live an eventful match below, albeit without Tyler's commentary, but we know how that one goes...
