Belgium have included Vincent Kompany in their final 23-man World Cup squad, but Roberto Martinez says he remains a big fitness doubt due to a groin injury.
The 32-year-old Manchester City player was injured in Belgium's goalless draw with Portugal in Brussels on Saturday and was due to have a scan on the injury on Sunday.
Manager Roberto Martinez has kept Kompany in the squad after reducing it from the original 28 to the 23 who will make the trip to Russia.
He has, however, named Los Angeles FC defender Laurent Ciman on stand-by and he's a direct replacement for Kompany should he not make it.
Belgium, who are 10/1 to win the World Cup in Russia, take on England, Panama and Tunisia in Group G.
Martinez revealed he would wait until closer to Belgium's World Cup opener against Panama on June 18 before making a decision on whether to play Kompany.
After naming his 23-man squad Martinez told a press conference: "Until 24 hours before (Belgium v Panama) we can still make a replacement. We need to wait a period of seven, eight days with Vincent Kompany. Then we will get a good opportunity to make a diagnosis.
"Vincent Kompany is a true leader. He performed in a fantastic manner when he was on the pitch. His leadership is essential for us."
There is no room for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke in the final 23 after scoring just two Premier League goals last season, as Michy Batshuayi has recovered from injury to take his place after making a big impact on loan from Chelsea at Borussia Dortmund.
Nacer Chadli is another somewhat surprising inclusion having not started a game for West Brom since October.
