Manchester City will not necessarily sign a replacement for winger Leroy Sane when he leaves because the club has "other priorities", says Pep Guardiola.
Sane, whose deal expires in June 2021, has rejected several offers of a new contract and will be sold this summer if City can agree a transfer.
Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the German winger since early 2019.
Leroy Sane - club after summer transfer window odds
- Bayern Munich - 1/7
- Not to sign or agree a contract with any other club - 21/10
- Real Madrid - 14/1
- Barcelona - 18/1
- Juventus - 18/1
But even if City do come to an agreement with the Bundesliga champions, or anyone else, over the next few months, Guardiola says the financial uncertainties caused by the coronavirus pandemic means he may have to absorb the loss of Sane.
"First, Leroy is our player, I don't know if he is going to leave this summer or going to leave at the end of the contract," he said.
"We have a lot of good players up front. Gabriel Jesus can play on the left, Phil Foden can play on the left, we have Raheem Sterling there as well, so we have talented players up front.
"Most of them, they are in good and healthy condition, like Phil, Gabriel and Raheem, they can play regularly for a long time. They are so stable in terms of injury situations so I think we have other priorities.
"But after coronavirus, the situation economically, financially for clubs is changing so I don't know what is the situation. We are going to see at the end of this season."
Guardiola is expected to focus his transfer spending on strengthening a defence that has capitulated this term through a combination of long-time captain Vincent Kompany's departure and the long-term injury absence of heir apparent Aymeric Laporte.
It has resulted in the near-constant deployment of midfielder Fernandinho at centre-back.
But the City boss, who handed a surprise start to teenager Eric Garcia in the 3-0 win over Arsenal, has challenged his existing players to prove their worth.
"(Signing a defender) depends on the people who stay and maybe the last two months that they make a step forward and we decide to continue with the same people. I don't know right now," Guardiola explained.
