Sky Bet Championship: Final day predictions and best bets

Wednesday sees the final day of the Sky Bet Championship season and Tom Carnduff picks out five best bets to consider.

Cardiff to beat Hull and over 2.5 goals - 10/11

Cardiff are in a strong position to secure their spot in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs and a point will do it when they take on Hull - who need a miracle if they are to survive the drop.

With the home side the odds-on favourites, it's worth taking them to win with goals in the contest to get the better value. Two of Cardiff's four home games since the restart has seen over 2.5 goals, while the same can be said for three of their last four in all venues.

For Hull, their last seven away games have all seen three or more goals scored - that includes an 8-0 hammering by Wigan the last time they were on the road.

Millwall to beat Huddersfield - 11/8

Huddersfield surprised everyone with the sacking of Danny Cowley on Sunday despite the former Lincoln boss guiding them to safety in the Sky Bet Championship.

Danny Schofield will lead the squad in their final game against Millwall, who missed out on the play-offs with a defeat to QPR last time out.

Gary Rowett's side will be eager to finish the season on a high though and have won three of their last five games; keeping a clean sheet in each of those victories.

Macauley Bonne to score against Leeds - 2/1

Leeds go into the final day safe in the knowledge that the job is done for them. Marcelo Bielsa's men wrapped up the title at the weekend after Brentford were beaten by Stoke before they would go on and secure victory over Derby.

In Charlton, they take on a side who are battling to avoid the drop and they know that a victory will do just that. It won't be easy though, Leeds made seven changes in that game against Derby and still won by a two-goal margin.

The visitors will be encouraged by the form of Macauley Bonne and remain hopeful that he can strike at Elland Road. The Charlton forward has scored in three of his last four appearances.

Middlesbrough/Draw v Sheffield Wednesday - 8/13

Sheffield Wednesday have endured a tough second-half of the season and have had little to play for since the restart. That has reflected in their results; they sit 22nd in the form charts over the past ten games.

Middlesbrough meanwhile have picked up a couple of wins since Neil Warnock was brought to the club and they'll need at least a point here to ensure their Championship status for another season.

Wednesday are the favourites but Middlesbrough have won three of their last four away games. It's worth siding with them on the double chance.

Matheus Pereira to score against QPR - 15/8

Matheus Pereira has been known for his assists this season, with 20 in the league, but he could well be on the scoresheet as West Brom go into a must-win game against QPR.

Victory will see the Baggies return to the Premier League and they've got an ideal fixture against a QPR team with nothing to play for. That is reflected in the short price available on a home win.

Pereira is pushing for a goal and could get his first one since their away win at Sheffield Wednesday at the beginning of the month; he's had at least four shots in each of their five games since then.
