Coronavirus updates: Former Man Utd & Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini tests positive for COVID-19 on return to China

Former Man Utd & Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has tested positive for COVID-19 after he returned to China.

Fellaini is the first player from the Chinese Super League to have tested positive for the virus, but he is not displaying any of the symptoms of the illness.

The Belgian midfielder's Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng announced on Sunday that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus upon his return to China.

Fellaini is not suffering from the symptoms of the virus, but Shandong Luneng say he has nevertheless been placed in quarantine.

The former Everton man moved to China to join Shandong from Manchester United last January, and had only returned to the country on Friday to join back up with his club.

The start of the Chinese Super League was due to start back on February 22 but has been pushed by indefinitely due to the outbreak of the coronavirus crisis in China, which has since spread worldwide.
