Borussia Dortmund say Jadon Sancho will stay for next season after Man Utd failed to agree on a suitable transfer fee by the Bundesliga side's deadline.
The England international was said to be back in the UK over the weekend, fuelling more speculation that he would be completing his proposed move to Old Trafford, but sporting director Michael Zorc now says they're planning on having Sancho in their team next season.
Sancho was back in Germany on Monday and went off alongside his team-mates to Bad Ragaz in Switzerland as part of their preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign
August 10 was said to be Dortmund's deadline for concluding a deal, with the club wanting to have the situation sorted by the time pre-season training began.
“We plan with Jadon Sancho. He will play with us next season. I think that answers all the questions," Zorc told the media at Dortmund's training base in Switzerland.
Zorc also added that the club had already extended Sancho's contract last season, so that it now runs until the summer of 2023 - meaning the need to seel is even less urgent.
United have continually insisted they would not pay the £108m asking price said to have been set by Dortmund to sign the 20-year-old, with the Germans insisting they have no need to sell for anything less.
United were hoping to make Sancho their marquee signing this summer, but with the two clubs being so far apart on their valuation of the player it'll now take one of them to make a big concession if a deal is to be struck.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remained tight-lipped on the subject after Wednesday's 2-1 win over LASK in the Europa League.
He said: "I've got no news, no update. We'll update you if something happens."

Trail blazer Sancho sets Germany alight
Sancho joined Dortmund in August 2017 from United's rivals Manchester City and has established himself as a key player in Germany.
The winger's form earned him a maiden senior England call-up a year later and he has been a regular under Gareth Southgate ever since.
Joining Sancho on Dortmund's pre-season training camp to Switzerland is 17-year-old Jude Bellingham, who signed for the club last month.
The England youth international agreed a move to Signal Iduna Park after a successful debut campaign with Birmingham in the Sky Bet Championship.
