Danny Cowley has been sacked as Huddersfield manager on the same weekend he secured safety in the Sky Bet Championship.
Town's impressive 2-1 win over second-placed West Brom on Friday - which sent local rivals Leeds up - virtually guaranteed their place in the second tier, with survival mathematically confirmed by results elsewhere on Saturday.
Assistant manager Nicky Cowley, Danny's brother, has also left the John Smith's after just 10 months in charge.
Huddersfield have said they are not seeking applications for the vacant position, suggesting they have someone already lined up for the role.
"I would like to place my thanks on record to Danny and Nicky for their hard work and dedication towards securing the club’s place in the Championship for next season," said Huddersfield chairman Phil Hodgkinson.

"That was the clear priority when they were appointed in September and we are very grateful that has been achieved. We all wish Danny and Nicky all the best for the future and they leave with my best wishes in their future endeavours.
"However, we have made this decision in the belief that, in the long term, it is in the best interests of the club as we move forward. We have a different vision for the way we operate the club, and how our ambitions can be achieved."
Cowley, 41, was appointed manager in September with Town bottom of the table and with a glowing reputation following a highly successful spell at Lincoln.
But he won just 13 of 40 games in charge, and despite keeping the Terriers up it has not been enough to secure him a second season at the helm.
