Sky Bet League One club Bradford City have turned to their former chairman Julian Rhodes in a bid to solve the club's problems on and off the field.
Rhodes will be working alongside joint owners Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic - the duo that brought Rhodes out of the club back in 2016.
The Bradford businessman served as chairman for more than 12 years, co-owning the club with Mark Lawn for a number of years.
After helping rescue the club from administration back in 2004, Rhodes initially saw the club rapidly drop down the Football League, into League Two and flirt with relegation to the non leagues.
However he also help guided City to some of its most recent and memorable success stories, including promotion back to League One and a famous run to the League Cup Final in 2013.
Rhodes said: “It is a privilege to be back here and I will do all I can to help turn things around.
“The season hasn’t started how any of us would have hoped but everyone is committed to ensuring it ends on a much more positive note.
“We have to look forward. This club has been in worse positions in the past and we have overcome them.”
Germans Rupp and Rahic initially experienced success with their new purchase, reaching the League One Play-Off Final with then boss Stuart McCall in their first season in charge.
However after defeat in that final, their second season was littered with controversy with the sacking of McCall, while City were still in the play-off places, and the release of some of the club's most experiences players.
Currently in their third campaign at the helm, Bradford are bottom of League One; have already made one managerial change, with David Hopkin taking over from Michael Collins; and face falling attendances.
In a joint statement, Rupp and Rahic added: “We are privileged to be welcoming Julian back to the club and he has our full support.
“Following a period of reflection, we felt the time was right to seek assistance of a true Bradford City man who knows the club inside out and can offer day-to-day guidance.
“His expertise will be paramount in helping us turn things around. He will be working closely with me and Stefan while building a strong relationship with David Hopkin.”
