Sheffield United transfer news: Blades sign West Brom striker Oli Burke with Callum Robinson joining Baggies

Sheffield United have added another new face just before the season with Scotland striker Oli Burke signing from West Brom - as Callum Robinson heads off in the opposite direction.

Burke is the fourth signing of the week for the Blades, who also signed Derby pair Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe, along with Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu on loan.

Scotland international Burke has signed a three-year contract and moves to Bramall Lane after making just 20 appearances for the Baggies while going out on loan to Celtic and Alaves.

As part of the deal, striker Callum Robinson has moved in the opposite direction, also for an undisclosed fee.

“We needed a touch of pace and Oli certainly gives us that. We’ve been working on it for a few weeks and obviously we wish Callum (Robinson) all the best,” United manager Chris Wilder told sufc.co.uk.

“It’s a move that suits all parties and we are delighted to have Oli in the building.”

Republic of Ireland international Robinson has signed a five-year deal with Albion, for whom he played on loan last season, scoring three goals in 16 Sky Bet Championship appearances.

The 25-year-old said on wba.co.uk: “I can’t wait to get going. Discussions were taking place over the summer but these things take time. I’m thankful it has all been completed and I’m really happy to be back here.

“I really enjoyed my loan spell last season. The club is a fantastic place to be. It has a real family feel to it. The players, the staff, the fans. Everybody.

“I was fortunate enough to help Albion win promotion to the Premier League and I’m so excited to have the chance to play for this club in the Premier League.”
