For any child that ever watched the BBC's Record Breakers programme it became their dream to one day end up in the Guinness book of World Records and now Trent Alexander-Arnold has achieved such a feat.
The Liverpool and England full-back hasn't had to sit in a bathtub of baked beans, jump out of an aeroplane while doing a jigsaw, or even cycle around the world five times to earn a place in the famous book, he's just had to play his normal game.
Alexander-Arnold has earned his world record for the most English Premier League assists by a defender in a single season, with 12 assists during the 2018/19 campaign.
What will be even more satisfying for the boyhood Liverpool fan is that he has taken the current record, set at 11, off Everton duo Andy Hinchcliffe (94/95) and Leighton Baines (10/11)
Alexander-Arnold said: "It's an honour. I've always wanted to go forward and help the team to create as many chances as possible.
"It's obviously down to the lads to put the ball into the back of the net, because football is a team game and without them this record wouldn't be possible."
The defender completed 16 assists in all competitions, but almost had to share his Premier League world record with teammate Andy Robertson. Between the pair they totalled 29 assists in all competitions, with fellow full-back Robertson finishing on 11 in league action, meaning he just missed out on holding the joint record.
This latest accolade continues an outstanding 2019 for the 21-year-old, who has won the Champions League and been named in both the Champions League squad and the PFA Team of the season this year.
