Richard Fahey's unmissable horse-by-horse guide to his team for York on Thursday.
1.55 York Thursday
Flawless Jewel was another breeze-up purchase and she runs in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes on Thursday. She’s very quick and a Kheleyf half-sister to Sands Of Mali. We just have to keep a lid on her as she’s a little hot.
She had to win at Pontefract last time but did it very well and we’ve been pleased with her since. She has a a lot of speed and will hopefully run a big race.
On figures Koydanna is probably the one to beat in the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes. She was second in a Group Three at Deauville last time and is rated 100 off the back of it. She won the Hilary Needler and has an obvious chance.
Things haven’t always gone right for Red Balloons but she too possesses a lot of ability and it would be no surprise to see her there or thereabouts.
Pacino is a horse who disappointed a couple of times so we gelded him. He won on his first start back at Wolverhampton the other day and did it well in a good time. He’s a nice horse and he’s come out of the race well. Whether he’s come on for it I wouldn’t know but he could go well at a big price.
Clubbable has done us proud and picked up some Black Type at Carlisle. She never lets us down and will run her race again in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap.
Starlight Romance likes it here but the handicapper has her right where he wants her and she has nothing in hand. That said she keeps surprising us with how well she runs here.
Maggies Angel didn’t get the trip stepped up to a mile at Haydock last time. She’d previously run well at Musselburgh on her reappearance and Oakley Brown takes seven pounds off which will hopefully help.
