Librisa Breeze bypassing 32Red Sprint Cup and heading straight for Ascot

Dean Ivory plans to bypass an outing in the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock with Librisa Breeze in favour of heading straight to Ascot for the defence of his Qipco British Champions Sprint title on October 20.

The gelded son of Mount Nelson has failed to rediscover the form that saw him capture the Group One prize in four starts so far this season, including last time out when trailing home last in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.

Ivory said: "I ran him a bit too quick at Newbury after Deauville. The time was four seconds slower than the standard and the race was not run to suit us.

"We will go for the Champions Sprint now. He has had two quick runs and that has taken a lot out of him.

"You only get out of them what you put in, so the plan is to give him a break before Ascot."
