VERDICT
This year’s Cesarewitch is as competitive as ever and despite none of the 34-runner field matching all of our trends, we look to have a strong shortlist headed by VIS A VIS.
Neil Mulholland’s four-year-old only joined the yard this term having previously been trained in France and he has won both of his starts for his new connections. His latest victory over 2m at Kempton suggested he wasthriving and he still looks to be ahead of the handicapper on a mark of 90.
His draw in stall 22 is higher than ideal but he looks to have an otherwise strong profile and, with last year’s winning jockey Silvestre De Sousa booked to ride, he is seemingly primed for a big run.
