The Crowd Boost element to the Lengthen The Odds special means that the more people backing him, the shorter the winning margin has to be for the bet to pay off.
As more bets are placed, the required winning distance gets smaller. For example, place a bet on Altior to win by 15 or more lengths at EVENS and you could end up with a bet for Altior to win by 5+ lengths at the same price.
