Danny Addy ruled out of Super League season

Hull KR's versatile forward Danny Addy is set to miss the entire 2018 Super League season with a serious knee injury, the club have announced.

The Scotland international had to be helped off the pitch after suffering the problem in the 23rd minute of the Robins' 34-26 pre-season win at Hull FC on Sunday.

The club confirmed the former Bradford Bulls player would be "out long term with a complex knee injury" following scans on Monday, just two weeks before their Super League return against Wakefield.

Head coach Tim Sheens, who earned promotion with Hull KR after one season in the Championship, now has a shortage in the hooking position, with injured Shaun Lunt joined on the sidelines by Tommy Lee, who picked up a knock in the fourth minute at Hull, and third-choice Addy.

Hull KR can be backed at 100/1 with Sky Bet to win this season's Grand Final.
