Went close off 3 lb lower hurdles mark at Catterick (25.3f, soft) when last seen in March. 2-3 in this sphere and remains feasibly treated, but slower ground would've been ideal.
Dual hurdles winner who posted his best effort yet over fences when just edged out at Perth (23.8f, good) last month. Flattered by proximity to the winner that day, but one to consider all the same.
Twice a winner over hurdles last term and has found just one too good on each of his 2 starts over fences this year, latterly at Fontwell (26f, good to firm). Major player here in first-time blinkers.
Ended time with Philip Hobbs out of sorts and hasn't fared any better for current yard, failing to beat a rival home back from a break at Uttoxeter in July. Plenty to prove at present.
Consistent handicap chaser who scored twice last autumn at Cartmel and Ayr. Creditable effort over this C&D back from a 7-month break 13 days ago and should make his presence felt.
Without a win since early 2018. Not disgraced back from a break at Cartmel, but he'll probably come up short once again, unless first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect.
Regained the winning thread at Kelso (23.4f, heavy) last October, but good run of form came to a grinding halt at Ayr later that month and absent since. Cheekpieces refitted.
Fair winner over hurdles/fences in 2017/18, but offered little on comeback run (first start for 22 months) at Southwell.
This three-time C&D winner is likely to struggle from a long way out of the handicap proper.
Forecasts
Jen's Boy (5/2), Court Dreaming (11/4), Nortonthorpelegend (11/2), Shanroe Street (8/1), Scoop The Pot (8/1), Skipthescales (10/1), Swinton Diamond (18/1), Damiens Dilemma (28/1), Apache Pilot (50/1)
The signs of temperament COURT DREAMING previously exhibited were not in evidence when runner-up at Perth, a performance which also represented a step forward form-wise in this sphere. He should have more to offer as a chaser and gets the nod ahead of Jen's Boy, who sports first-time blinkers in a bid to make it third time lucky over fences. Nortonthorpelegend is best of the rest.
- COURT DREAMING (IRE)
