Winner on the AW at Dundalk previously the Famous Name gelding ran well in defeat but as beaten favourite in a couple of starts when last seen in October. Major player on comeback for yard that won this contest 12 months ago.
Gelding by Stowaway out of a Montelimar mare. Half-sister to the useful Tammys Hill. Overall point-to-point form looks suspect and one to leave out on rules debut.
Nine-race maiden over hurdles but has hit the frame on four occasions. Career best finishing second of five beaten 2¾L at Ballinrobe last month before running out approaching two out at Kilbeggan Saturday. Capable of a big run if in the mood.
Gelding by Mahler out of a Bach mare. Has moved for €11,000 as as three-year-old and £20,000 as a five-year-old. Well held in a couple of starts at this track recently and needs to improve to be involved here.
Hitting the frame in a number of starts at this venue since May but beaten fair and square on each occasion. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role.
Oscar mare whose dam was a 2m-2m4f hurdle/chase winner. Beaten over 80L in a couple of bumper starts so far, more recently at Kilbeggan. Form doesn't warrant support.
Daughter of Mountain High. Cost a modest €800 as a three-year-old. Closely related to useful hurdler/chaser Railway Zira. Detached last of seven on debut here last month. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Panther Soul (10/11), Summer Hill (13/8), Balgowlah (8/1), Three Is Company (12/1), Howya Darlin (20/1), Paddy's Hill (20/1), Lig Na Arigid (40/1)
It's difficult to get away from the chances of the returning PANTHER SOUL. The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old should be able to get off the mark at the third time of asking over hurdles with Summer Hill, second last time out at Ballinrobe and Balgowlah, who likes it here, potentially the biggest threat to the selection.
