Raised 6lb for a 2¼L win at Market Rasen (2m2f+, good) but it's possible that there's plenty more to come - relatively early days post wind surgery; slight drop back in trip isn't a concern; chance.
In the form of his life over fences of late (a rejuvenated character); bounded clear on a sound surface at Wetherby a fortnight ago; first start over hurdles since December 2018 seeking to exploit a more lenient (albeit a rising) mark.
Three-time Flat winner for Ed Walker in 2017 (1m-1m2f); some signs that he is beginning to sharpen up over hurdles (0-6); the tongue-tie worn at Fairyhouse (2m) latest isn't declared today.
Excelled himself when finishing a close-up fourth to Wot A Shot at Musselburgh (2m, good) in January, albeit was possibly flattered by that showing; twice placed over C&D as a novice.
Has mixed hurdling with chasing since scoring at Southwell (2m, soft) in February 2018; plummeting down the weights after a number of largely unappealing performances; well handicapped if he fancies putting his best foot forward.
20-race maiden (0-9 over hurdles); runner up on a couple of occasions in early 2019 (Naas and Wexford), but his latest showing at Fairyhouse implies that he has plenty to find with Captain Courageous.
Ex-Irish; five-race maiden for former handler Michael Winters; mildly interesting to see how he figures in the market on debut for Jennie Candlish with the UK handicapper allocating an opening mark of 102.
Bounced right back to form in a small-field affair at Kelso (2m2f, good to soft) earlier this month, in a race where stablemate and hot favourite Royal Reserve flopped; 6lb higher here; has run well at Perth in the past.
Seven-race hurdles maiden; best effort came when finishing second at odds of 66/1 at Newton Abbot (2m1f novices') in September 2018; weakened rapidly after setting a strong early pace at Kempton 87-days ago.
She has the ability to win a race of this nature as shown when beating Red Ochre by a neck at Hexham (2m, good) in June 2018; disappointing since; hopes pinned on her being rejuvenated by a five-plus month absence.
35-race maiden; attracted market support (9/2f) when finding only Side Of The Road stronger at Musselburgh (2m, good) in late March; couldn't be dismissed in a broadly similar low-grade contest.
17-race maiden; upped his game when finishing a staying on third at Carlisle (2m1f, good) on Easter Saturday; has no issues with a 2m trip on a right-handed track; can he back up?; risky.
Flat winner for Andrew Balding in the more distant past; has struggled over hurdles for this trainer (0-13) dropping a whopping 29lb in the weights; beaten just over 8L (fourth) at Newcastle (2m, good to soft) latest.
0-18 on the Flat, and 0-8 over hurdles; started at odds of 50/1 when comfortably held (sixth) by today's rival the longstanding maiden Oromo at Musselburgh (2m, good) last month.
11-race hurdles maiden (dual AW scorer in 2016); off the track for 18-months until returning with a moderate effort at Carlisle (33/1) recently; not the solution.

Captain Courageous (9/2), Haasab (6/1), St George's Oval (13/2), Oromo (7/1), Contre Tous (15/2), Las Tunas (8/1), Dance Of Fire (9/1), Viscount Wilson (9/1), Wot A Shot (16/1), Sense Of Urgency (22/1), Golan Cloud (25/1), Buachaill Beag (25/1), Make It Happen (28/1), My Valentino (40/1), Imperial Focus (40/1), Byronegetonefree (66/1)
A race which is best summed up by a single word; tough! A couple of the more obvious candidates would include the recent Market Rasen winner Haasab, and the rejuvenated chaser Las Tunas who seeks to exploit a marginally lower hurdles rating. Oromo is a 35-race maiden who attracted market support when going close in a similar race at Musselburgh, whilst both Wot A Shot and Make It Happen could feasibly play a positive role. However, we'll take a shot in the dark with the handily-weighted mare SENSE OF URGENCY. She has the ability to win another race of this nature, and is selected in the hope that a five-plus month break from racing sees her well.
- Sense Of Urgency
- Haasab
- Oromo
