Unbeaten on a synthetic surface (4-4); made the trip across the Irish Sea to Dundalk in late September to land a 1m2f+ Group 3 by 1½L; elevated mark (105) back in handicap company with Oisin Murphy on top for the first time.
Off the track since July 2018 and his last couple of wins have came over longer trips (1m6f-2m); finished tenth of 20 to Withhold in the 2018 Northumberland Plate on his most recent AW start.
Fast-finishing runner-up to Soghan off a similar mark at Lingfield (1m4f) in January, and probably didn't see out the trip on his first attempt at 2m (Chelmsford) 12-days ago; holds realistic place prospects.
A five-time winner from just 14 starts, including when beating Atty Persse by 1¼L in a competitive Class 2 handicap at Ascot (1m4f, good to firm) in July; now rated 12lb higher than for his last AW appearance in April 2018.
All out winner of the Northumberland Vase (the Northumberland Plate Consolation Race) in June, but hasn't quite replicated that level of form in six starts since (worn various types of headgear); eye-shields are now tried; feasibly handicapped.
Ridden to lead close home when scoring at Kempton (1m3f) in December. However, the major worry tonight is not so much the subsequent 5lb rise in the weights, more his prowess against much better rivals (Class 2 company).
Vastly improved since a gelding operation; 6-14 on the AW; had won four on the bounce (all over 1m4f) prior to tasting defeat - met trouble in running - behind Exceeding Power latest; no forlorn hope despite a career high mark.
Left Joseph O'Brien for 11,500gns in December 2018 (1-7 on turf); in plenty deep enough on AW/stable debut and is therefore predicted to struggle as a result; others much preferred.
Forecasts
Mootasadir (1/1), Kelly's Dino (10/3), Fearsome (5/1), Primero (10/1), Lexington Law (12/1), Cosmelli (16/1), Amazing Red (18/1), High Language (80/1)
Oisin Murphy takes the ride aboard MOOTASADIR for the first-time as the Hugo Palmer-trained four-year-old defends his unbeaten AW record. Off the track since late September, he's taken a predictable (and fully merited) hike in the weights for winning outside of handicap company in a Group 3 contest at Dundalk. However, that form has plenty of substance with the runner-up Global Giant taking a Listed contest on his very next start and the fourth-placed Massif Central also winning in lesser handicap company. Therefore, the top-weight can potentially prove a class above these rivals at the main expense of Kelly's Dino and Primero.
