Out of a half-sister to Jockey Club Cup winner Capal Garmon, and improved on debut effort when winning novice at Nottingham (1m) last time. Sure to progress at this trip, and high on the shortlist.
Fastnet Rock half-brother to US 2-y-o Grade 1 winner Toccet and 1½m-2m winner Agreement. Makes a belated racecourse debut having been gelded, and fair to assume he's had his issues.
Expensive purchase from an excellent family. Best effort so far when third in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket in April. Not disgraced on handicap debut at Sandown, and obvious claims receiving weight in a race lacking depth.
Unraced for Roger Charlton, and sold very cheaply earlier this year before making an inauspicious debut at Kempton last month. May do better, but likely to need time.
Had a breathing operation prior to debut and similar form in 1½m maidens at Ffos Las and Newbury last month. Has scope for better, but improvement likely to come when handicapping.
Gelded prior to making racecourse bow, and showed just a glimmer of promise when down the field on debut at Lingfield in July, albeit not given a hard time.
Some promise in a trio of runs over 1m for Richard Hannon in the spring, but absence since April a concern. Sold for 12,000 gns in July, and this run should reveal more, but longer trip should suit.
Forecasts
Cogital (4/5), Autumn War (15/8), Dono Di Dio (9/2), Lzaaz (10/1), Butterfield (25/1), Das Kapital (66/1), Flashdanza (66/1), Sargento (66/1)
COGITAL hasn't progressed as expected since a promising debut in Newmarket's Wood Ditton Stakes in April, but he ran pretty well on his handicap bow at Sandown, and can take advantage of the weight he receives from Autumn War here. Lzaaz is best of the rest, for all he appeals more as a handicap project.
