Best effort to date when good second of 17 to More Than This in 7f nursery at Goodwood, and didn't need to match that form when winning auction event at Newmarket last time. Holds outstanding claims kept to similar company.
Form of his defeat of Swissterious at Wolverhampton in July has been boosted by the second, but he's not really progressing himself, and well behind Indian Viceroy when the pair clashed at Goodwood recently.
Has lacked the pace to get involved in a couple of runs over 6f to date, but improved when a close fourth at Leicester last time, and ought to find this trip more suitable.
Lope de Vega half-brother to smart 6f7f winner Naadirr among others. Yard has no great reputation with juveniles, but hitting the mark regularly this year, and this gelding should not be ignored.
Forecasts
Indian Viceroy (1/2), Water Diviner (3/1), Jean Valjean (13/2), Marronnier (25/1)
INDIAN VICEROY was an easy winner of a similar event at Newmarket last time, and should be able to follow up. Jean Valjean gives the impression that he will improve at this trip, and is selected as the best forecast option, especially as Water Diviner was well behind Indian Viceroy at Goodwood when the pair met. The market should indicate what's expected of Marronnier.
- Indian Viceroy
- Jean Valjean
- Marronnier
