Course winner who has also won over the distance but has been out of sorts recently including well beaten in his last two chase appearances. Looks opposable.
Off the mark at the tenth attempt over the larger obstacles and commands plenty of respect on handicap debut for Grand National winning yard.
Taking closer order and still in contention when brought down two out in a Thurles handicap chase last month over 2m4½f. Winner at Punchestown in January and not easy to dismiss.
Poor form in a series of dismal performances since October with poor jumping one of the major negatives. Cheekpieces fitted for the first-time but one not to trust.
Course winner well beaten in five chase contests since the turn of the year . Handicapper needs to release his grip before consideration.
Beaten over hurdles latest but has produced a number of laboured runs over the larger obstacles since December. Stable in good form and not ruled out.
Distance winner but has failed to finish two of his last three chase starts. Will need to improve jumping to figure here.
First time blinkers did not do the gelding any favours finishing fifth of 11 beaten over 18L in a Naas handicap chase in February. Worth a market check back at this trip.
C&D winner in May last year off a 9lb lower mark but the gutsy ten-year-old has generally struggled since bar another decent performance here on St Stephens Day. Place claims back at this track.
Forecasts
Bilbo Bagins (4/1), Ballela Boy (4/1), Aranhill Rascal (5/1), Concordin (7/1), Take The Cash (7/1), Attalco (8/1), Positive Approach (8/1), Show And Go (12/1), Draycott Place (16/1)
Quite a few with jumping issues here including BALLELA BOY who has had his mistakes ironed out since unseating at Clonmel in November. The seven-year-old looks to be on a handy mark on handicap debut and appears to be improving at a quicker rate than some of the opposition here. Take The Cash and the gallant veteran Aranhill Rascal can out run their odds to hit the frame in this contest.
- Ballela Boy
- Aranhill Rascal
- Take The Cash
