Won final start on the Flat and made a flying start for this yard with a 20L success at Fakenham. Not as good when hanging under pressure last time but yard couldn't be in better form after a four-timer on Monday and worth giving another chance to.
Was becoming a little disappointing when trained on the Flat by Dermot Weld in Ireland but made a winning start for this yard at Catterick last month. Handled heavy ground on the Flat and likely to improve so should run well.
Boasts a 66% strike rate in French bumpers for previous trainer D.Ferir (1m1f to 1m4f). Hasn't raced on ground quite this testing, but should stay this trip over hurdles (on pedigree), and has a live chance on stable debut. Wears first-time hood.
Won a maiden on the Flat but talied off or pulled up on all subsequent starts including two runs over hurdles. Didn't jump well last time at Fakenham and hard to fancy.
Placed in a couple of maidens at Gowran Park when trained in Ireland on the Flat. Well beaten on hurdles debut last time on second start for this yard and needs to take a step forward from that.
Maiden on the Flat for Ed Dunlop, and hasn't really cut it over hurdles thus far. That said, he was in deep when finishing seventh of 12 at Newbury latest (2m soft), and the horse immediately behind him has won since (Royale Zanzibar).
Solo Saxophone (5/4), Oxford Blu (13/8), Empire De Maulde (6/1), Take The High Road (11/1), Titan (50/1), Investigation (100/1), About Glory (125/1)
SOLO SAXOPHONE should take a step forward from his yard/hurdle debut last time and he will be hard to beat if he continues to improve. Oxford Blu should be the main for a trainer who had four winners at Fakenham on Monday. Empire De Maulde is an interesting contender who was winning bumpers in France and one that should improve for the step up in trip.
