Sole win came over the extended mile at Wolverhampton. Has been campaigning over longer more recently and drops considerably in grade. Stable have won two of the last four runnings of this and weighted to be competitive.
Ex-Irish gelding who has underperformed recently. Cheekpieces failed to buck the trend last time and a visor goes on. Others look better treated at the weights but respected at this level for top connections.
Won a decent Chelmsford maiden in September but produced two tame efforts there at the turn of the year. Has since moved to new trainer and hard to be confident he can run to level his official rating suggests.
Winner at Beverley and has not been disgraced since. Interesting to see him dropped in grade and up in considerably in trip. Pedigree casts serious doubts he will get this far but merits respect as his trainer has few runners in these events. One to check in the market and visor worn last time is removed.
Winner of two AW races and has looked just below that level in two turf starts lately. Receives plenty of weight and should be competitive at the weights for a rider who is 3-18 for the yard and a 20 points level stakes profit.
Has produced two modest efforts this term and is now dropped in grade and upped in trip. Blinkers applied first time but chance not obvious at the weights.
Forecasts
Sir Jack (2/1), Il Sicario (5/2), Maestro Mac (4/1), Star Glitter (7/1), Log Off (14/1), Iberica Road (14/1), Miss Monro (25/1), Columbian Cartel (66/1)
Hughie Morrison has landed this twice in the last four years so MAESTRO MAC has to get the vote. The four-year-old is dropped in grade and trip so there can be few excuses here. He is weighted to be competitive and has most to fear from Il Sicario. Mark Johnston has few runners at this level but stamina doubts are a concern. Log Off is feared off her featherwight as is Sir Jack with the champion on board.
