Looked progressive on first three starts, winning a bumper and then a Mares novice hurdle here at Uttoxeter last November (form working out, second and fifth winners since) but a lacklustre effort at Chepstow on her latest start is more of a concern, as she never jumped or travelled with any conviction ; too soon to write off, but a bit to prove now.
Won the race at Chepstow that Poppy Kay pulled up in, and has no problem with heavy ground. Wears her heart on her sleeve and will once again try to make all here, and although it's not hard to think there's something better handicapped in here, no reason she won't run her race again and some more prizemoney may well be coming her way again.
Was third to Poppy Kay here last November and is 3lb better off for four lengths, so every chance of getting closer on the revised terms. Has since run with some credit at Wincanton and Exeter, finishing midfield on both occasions and giving the impression a bigger test of stamina would suit. Bobble Boru will ensure this is a decent test, which will help her cause, so is of definite interest, with more improvement likely.
Disappointing on debut at Aintree, even allowing the fact it was a Class 1 affair, going off a 5-1 chance but weakening out of it tamely after chasing the runaway winner Evening Hush and although on the face of it she did better on her latest start at Ludlow, she still looked a weak finisher. Gets the 4-y-o allowances here, which will help, and still has time on her side, but something to prove now.
Related to Grand National winner Mon Mome and also to thorough stayer Tokyo Javilex, so will get much further in time. Looked to have a good future ahead of her when winning a Ludlow bumper a couple of seasons ago, but mixed efforts over hurdles since although latest effort when fourth to Sister Sibyl at Leicester a step in the right direction. Needs to progress again from that to win here.
Was in the care of Gordon Elliott when taking a minor event at Sedgefield last September, but showed little on first run for new yard at Leicester in February, finishing a distant third. Ground another question mark and comes up against some progressive rivals here, so looks an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Poppy Kay (5/2), Alizee Javilex (3/1), Lagavara (7/2), Bobble Boru (4/1), Daisy De Sivola (7/1), Lucy Mc (22/1)
Not easy to solve. Bobble Boru will ensure this is run at a decent pace and that might eke out the necessary improvement from LAGAVARA, who looks a stayer in the making. Poppy Kay needs a poor run last time forgiving, but she was progressive before that and can run well here, and Alizee Javilex is another that will appreciate a good gallop and can stay on for third.
1. Lagavara
2. Poppy Kay
3. Alizee Javilex
