Jason Tindall has been installed as the bookies' favourite to get the Bournemouth job on a permanent basis after Eddie Howe's departure.
Howe's exit was confirmed by the Sky Bet Championship newcomers on Saturday evening, with the 42-year-old telling fans in an open letter that it was "time for the club to go in a new direction" - read more here.
He leaves after more than 450 games in charge across two spells and the Cherries' search for his replacement is now under way.
Tindall, 42, has worked as Howe's assistant for 12 years in total and has been given the job on a caretaker basis after remaining at the Vitality.
Players are due to return for pre-season on August 17, with the new season due to kick off on the weekend of September 12.
Tindall worked with Howe in both spells at the south coast club, as well as moving to Burnley for their short stint in 2011/12. He is odds-on with Sky Bet for the full-time role at 4/7, with former Bristol City boss Lee Johnson second favourite at 6/1.
Johnson left the Robins last month and one of the candidates to replace him at Ashton Gate, Chris Hughton, is also in the running here at 9/1.
John Terry, current assistant at Aston Villa, is fancied to step up to the main role in the near future and the former England captain can be backed at 10/1 for Bournemouth, while former Huddersfield and Lincoln boss Danny Cowley is at 12/1 along with ex-Wigan manager Paul Cook.
